Compare

A Driversnote
alternative for the mileage log itself.

Driversnote tracks miles on iPhone, Android, and the web, and it sells a small beacon for the car. If you only need the log on an iPhone, here is how MileWiz compares — including the Excel export, which MileWiz cannot open until you save it as CSV.

Prices checked 4 November 2026. Competitor names appear for factual, nominative comparison only. This is not tax advice.

Driversnote and MileWiz overlap on automatic tracking, work hours, several vehicles, and a report you can hand to an accountant. Driversnote then keeps going: a website, teams of 2 to 10, and an iBeacon that stays in the car. MileWiz stops at the log on your iPhone or iPad.

The prices are not one number. Driversnote’s US website and its US App Store listing disagreed on 4 November 2026. Both are copied below. Neither is a promise about the renewal you already have.

Sources: driversnote.com/pricing and the Driversnote US App Store listing, checked 4 November 2026. The website says its prices exclude tax. MileWiz US App Store Unlimited Driving Plan $4.99 / $49.99, checked 3 November 2026. Driversnote’s page also says an iBeacon is included with a yearly subscription bought on the web, and lists a $40 value.

What Driversnote is especially for

The pricing page is aimed at people who report mileage often, including employees sending a log to a manager. Teams get a web view for collecting and checking reports. The iBeacon is a separate object in the car so the phone is more sure which vehicle moved. MileWiz does not sell hardware and does not collect reports from other drivers.

Driversnote’s FAQ says the free version can create reports for up to 15 trips a month, and a subscription lifts that to unlimited trips. MileWiz’s free limit is 20 automatic trips kept each month. Those caps are not the same kind of cap. Compare them against your own month, not as a single score.

Bringing a Driversnote log into MileWiz

Driversnote’s App Store description says logbooks export as PDF or Excel. MileWiz does not read Excel. Open the spreadsheet and save a CSV copy, then open that CSV in MileWiz. Email the CSV to yourself and open the attachment in MileWiz, or save it in Files, iCloud Drive, Dropbox or Google Drive and open it with MileWiz. Keep the original file. Opening the same file again adds those trips a second time. Imported trips are not automatic trips, so they do not use the free plan’s 20-a-month allowance. When the file has addresses, MileWiz looks them up, which needs an internet connection. If one address cannot be found, that trip is skipped. If the phone is offline, a file that contains addresses is not imported.

MileWiz reads the start and stop time, the from and to addresses, the purpose, the comment, and the distance. Business or Personal in the purpose column sets the category. Any other purpose becomes a category with that name. The comment is the note. The Distance heading does not say miles or kilometers. MileWiz treats a bare distance as miles if the app is set to miles, and as kilometers if it is set to kilometers. Check one trip after import. A column that already says mi or km is honored either way. The rate and the reimbursement amount are money, not parking or tolls, so they are not stored as trip expenses. The original driven path is not in the file. MileWiz looks up the two addresses and draws a route, which needs an internet connection. If one address cannot be found, that trip is skipped.

Who MileWiz is not for

Stay with Driversnote if you need Android, a browser log, a manager approving other people’s reports, or the beacon in the car. MileWiz is for one person’s iPhone log.

Questions people ask

How much does Driversnote cost right now?

On 4 November 2026, Driversnote’s US website listed a free plan at $0 and a paid individual plan at $11 per month, prices excluding tax. The US App Store listed a monthly subscription at $14, a yearly subscription at $150, and a yearly subscription with an iBeacon at $167.99. The website and the App Store do not show the same numbers. Use the price on the screen where you would pay.

How does that compare with MileWiz?

MileWiz’s free plan keeps 20 automatic trips a month. Unlimited Driving is $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year on the US App Store (checked 3 November 2026). Driversnote’s free plan limits reports to 15 trips a month. Its paid US list price on the website is $11 a month, higher than MileWiz Unlimited, before you look at the App Store amounts above.

Does MileWiz import Driversnote data?

Yes, after you save the file as CSV. Driversnote’s download is Excel. Open it, choose Save As CSV, and open that CSV in MileWiz. Date, time, places, and distance are kept. A Business or Personal purpose sets the category. Any other purpose becomes a category with that name. The comment is the note. The Distance column does not say miles or kilometers, so MileWiz uses miles or kilometers, whichever the app is set to show. The rate and reimbursement amounts are not copied in as expenses.

Who should stay on Driversnote?

Stay if you want Android, a web app, team approval, or the iBeacon that Driversnote sells for the car. MileWiz has none of those.
