Getting started with MileWiz Enterprise - for Drivers

This guide is meant for company employees (drivers) and will lead you through first steps of using the MileWiz application.

What is MileWiz

MileWiz is a mobile application that can automatically track your driving with no actions required from you. After you have installed and configured it, you will only be responsible to occasionally categorize your trips.

Getting started

You should have already received an invitation e-mail asking you to download and configure MileWiz. Before continuing please carefully read the invitation e-mail you’ve received and follow all steps outlined in it. If you haven’t received any invitation e-mail, please contact the manager responsible for mileage tracking in your company.

When you click on the setup link in the e-mail, MileWiz will launch. You will see an animation of the road on your screen with a Get Started button at the bottom. Tap on it.

Password setup phase

MileWiz will then quickly pre-configure your company account for you. Once it finishes, you’ll be presented with Password setup screen. Before continuing, please check if your e-mail is correct then fill out the password field. This password will be used to sign in to your MileWiz account so please make it strong and memorable.

Next you’ll be asked to choose 2 security questions and provide security answers. Those will be used in case you forget your password. To reset the password you’ll need to provide both answers. Please note that they are case-sensitive.

If you do not like the default questions on the list tap on them to pick another one from the list.

Once you are finished, tap Continue. MileWiz will perform initial sync.

Location access phase

Next, you’ll be asked for Location access. MileWiz needs your permission to track your location in order to automatically recognize when you’ve started a trip and when you’ve finished it. Enabling Location access is essential for the application’s primary function. Tap Continue then tap Allow when asked to allow MileWiz to track your location.

You can change your mind (and this setting) at any time but please note that MileWiz won’t be able to track your trips automatically.

Notifications setting phase

Next step is the Notifications access. While not required for MileWiz operations, it will help you categorize your trips quicker as you’ll be notified as soon as a trip is recognized with a prompt to categorize it. If you do not enable notifications, you could forget to categorize the trips and remember that your employer would depend on your correctly categorized trips. Tap Continue then Allow when asked to allow MileWiz to send you Notifications. This setting also can be changed at any time.

Vehicles phase

During this step you should set up the vehicle(s) that you’ll use for driving. To begin tap on Add button. Then fill out the form. Note that you can tap on the vehicle icon at the top to choose your own avatar for this vehicle.

You can add more than one vehicle so go ahead and add all that you’ll be driving. Once you are done, tap Continue.

Working hours phase

If your working hours do not change that often you might want to consider setting MileWiz to automatically categorize all drives made during your working hours. This is an optional step, however, so you can just skip it by tapping Continue.

You’ll see the road animation one last time to confirm that the setup process is now completed.

Done!

That’s it! MileWiz is now configured, so you can put the phone in your pocket and continue your work as usual.
